I have always been obsessed with clothes and decorating myself. When I was a kid I put on as many bangles as my tiny wrists could handle.
I never intended on working in fashion, but fashion seemed to want to work in me. I wanted to write novels and kept being offered jobs in fashion.
What I realize now is that fashion is narrative. It's intuitive and visceral, ever-changing, imprecise and universal. Our clothes put a three-dimensional image out to the Universe; and that image operates on every level of consciousness with or without our permission. It tells people around us about how we are feeling or not feeling.
How we create meaning, use symbols, and understand ourselves through narratives dictates our experience, our perception. Through my work with healers, reiki, and the process of self-discovery through writing, I have discovered what Myths of Creation is beyond a place to find things. Our mission is to help you identify the stories you tell yourself about yourself and the world, and to amplify what feels true while helping you shed what feels false. It's your myth. It's your creation.
It feels like yesterday and also forever since we opened our shop at 421 Graham in Sept 2014. We love to find and share tools that help explore and harness those nebulous, surreal and all-too-real feelings and ideas.
So come by. Hold a crystal. Smell some incense. Grab a shirt covered in toys. Because everyday you're growing and we want to grow with you.
