TRYING TO SKATE BY: MY AFFAIR WITH SKATER DRESSES

In the 90s I was mesmerized by figure skating. I remember sitting in a room without any lights on and Kristi Yamaguchi's triple lutzes glowing on the television. Even through the Tanya and Nancy shenanigans, I stayed super-into figure skating.

While figure skating costumes are awesome to look at, the theatrical version isn't exactly sidewalk friendly in New York... or anywhere. But skater skirts and dresses are a translation of the figure skating costume that I love. They flatter all body types, heights and ages!

Skater dresses come in super luxe (and expensive! versions) like this sweet Prada velvet number.

One of the first pieces I bought for Myths of Creation was this stretch mesh cut-out LUSH skater dress. I've seen on on EVERY body type I know of and its amazing on every single one of us; tall and thin to 5'1" and Filipino : )  However you wear it, whatever your personal reference is for that iconic "skater" costume, the skater dress is an awesome investment piece because its so dang versatile.
